It’s very commonplace in American culture to reach for an energy drink–even when we’re not tired! The thing is there is almost a limitless discussion as to why these drinks are dangerous for your health–especially for children. In this interesting article in fact, pediatricians warn parents against energy and sports drinks– both of which contain copious amounts of caffeine and sugar, which as we know can both lead to cases of hypertension, diabetes, and obesity.
These drinks should absolutely be off-limits to children, as there is much concern over the effects of caffeine on growing adolescents, and we are all aware of the dangers of excess sugar to children. For adults suffering from fatigue, reaching for the energy drinks is also a grave mistake. Instead reach for a healthier alternative such as green tea, which still contains caffeine–but in much healthier doses for your body. And remember, fatigue can be an underlying symptom of a subluxated spine–or a spine in which segments have shifted out of place.
